Tether Nikon To For Video Free And WorksAlso someone on this forum provided a link to nikon-camera-control tethered software that is free and works with the D800.![]() Do a Google search for nikon-camera-control NCCsetup0.7.120 Manufactures Description on USB card Byteccs BT-PEU310 brings you the latest USB 3.0 technology to your system. You can quickly add two SuperSpeed ports to your PCIe-enabled desktop PC at a blazing 5Gbps SuperSpeed USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with USB 1.01.12.0 devices. The new PCI Express interface, which will eventually replace PCI, effectively quadruples the amount of available computing bandwidth, resulting in faster music downloads, smoother streaming video and lightning-fast access to mass-storage devices. Are you using this card in a Mac Take a look at the user review on Amazon. Ive looked for USB 3.0 PCI cards for a Mac Pro and all the ones Ive found have reviews indicating that they either dont work at all, or they only work with specific drives. If anyone knows of a card that actually works on a Mac for use with card readers or tethering, please let me know. I am surprised that Nikon dont supply software to allow tethering unlike Canon which has Eos Utility which works really well. Peter. Peter Peter, I found the link to the software; unfortunately the software is for computers only and will not work on a macintosh. They only show one used one available, so you will need to do some hunting. Cost is about 150, which is steep, but it does more than simply download images. I recently upgraded to a new Mac Pro and have been told at that this time, there is not Apple support for USB 3.0. For example, USB 2.0 can be tethered 5m (no more) - I tried, exceed that by even 1m and you get serious degradation to the point the software crashes (this was with Canon). Im going to try an Eye-Fi Pro X2 that claims it will transfer RAW files. I managed to get it saving NEFs to a folder on my Mac Pro over AirPort network. It was a little flaky in that it wouldnt work unless I allowed it to create dated subfolders in the destination folder. Tried it with Lightroom 4.1 auto import and had problems. It imported some, then stopped. At present I have a Canon 1DsMKIII which I use mainly tethered to my Mac in the studio.
